Loyola, the Soldier Saint
Rafael Duran, Maria Rosa Jiminez
1952 - B/W - 93 minutes (Dubbed in English)
Here is the inspiring and authentic biography of the man who founded the Society of Jesuits. The film follows his life from his early years as a page in the Spanish Court to his heroic exploits on the field of battle (a part that could have been played by Errol Flynn), and ultimately his spiritual awakening at the University of Paris. A stunning revelation of one mans faith and courage, the story of Loyola will be equally thought provoking to both Catholic and non-Catholic alike.
"One of the best productions dealing with a religious subject to be
released in the U.S." -- Variety.

Miracle of Saint Therese
Frances Descaut, Jean Debucourt, Suzanne Flon
1959 - B/W - 90 minutes (Dubbed in English)
She was born a watchmakers daughter, a young woman who, at the age of fourteen, followed her two sisters into a life of devotion by joining the Order of the Carmelites. Devoting her brief existence to the development of her faith, she died of tuberculosis at the age of 24. When her autobiography sold 1,000,000 copies, a public letter campaign asking for sainthood was so successful that the Catholic Church waved the usual fifty year waiting period for canonization. In 1923, Therese was beatified, then canonized in 1925. This is a studied film, a fitting tribute to the woman who became the second patron saint of France, the first being Joan of Arc.
"A studied and reverent reenactment of the simple, closeted life of a Carmelite nun." -- The New York Times.
